Um, exactly what the hell did they think was going to happen? If you're enforcing artificial (and sometimes, statistically impossible) diversity quotas, then there's going to be swaths of people who are either under- or un-qualified for the job that are going to be shoehorned into the positions that would have been filled by "non-diverse" candidates that actually fit the job and can do it. They have to open those spaces somehow, so they kick the people that were qualifies. They screwed themselves over on this one.
