I've been thinking this might happen in Aus for a while, and it hasn't, as yet, and we're much further down this pipeline than you... So eh, I wouldn't count on it. See also NZ, which has slightly more guns than us, but also a more compliant population...

Then again, legal mass gun ownership, and a culture of resistance and independent-mindedness that we don't have. Maybe that'll make the difference. Who can say, honestly?
