There are way too many pushing vaccines, masks, fear, whatever that will say something like I saw yesterday "my grandma died from Covid last year, now I know several people who's kids have it and their families are worried about them dying. One of them is calling me with their kid in the ICU." How statistically improbable is that? So your grandma was one of the 1/500 of the US population that has died and you are close enough that they call you when their kid is in the ICU. Kids in ICU is definitely a lower stat than total death. Combine the chances and you get a person who's existence is lower chance than a lottery win. Yet you see these people all over the place.
