Not going to lie, I don't know why so many people are getting torn up about schools closing, considering what they're teaching in public schools nowadays.
To be fair, I don't have kids... but if I did, homeschool, private school, co-schooling groups with multiple families, anything other than public school.
People aren't thinking clearly because things have been changing so fast they're hardly able to. And their enemies are the ones pushing these policies so there's a bit of a team rivalry mentality going on.
And probably more than a bit of just ingrained thinking like "serious countries/societies have schools, even if those schools are so unfit for purpose no one can use them; and even if ultimate responsibility for schooling rests with the parent", so when you suggest that if the schools are so bad and bear no responsibility for their poor performance maybe we should close all the schools it's you that looks like the crazy person.
