Honestly, I'd be a little surprised if the Biden administration didn't roll out the red carpet for a PRC invasion force.
Sadly true
Wrong. Why would China bother invading Taiwan militarily? It would be almost impossible as that Island nation. Unless they surrendered prior having been completely destabilised first economically or from massive causality. China would have to route a modern allied army which would cause enormous causalites to itself prior to any gain. It would be easier to obliterate it with massive bombing, risky when Taiwan submarines would sooner return destruction, or from using nukes, because it wouldn't be worth the hard fought losses. China would faster have to contend with the rest of the Planet allied against such stupidity. A fool's errand thinking Taiwan would roll over despite of it being an inferior force. It would seemingly resist for far longer as an Island. Being an Island nation would cause a catastrophic nightmare to beach troops on. It would be akin to their failed invasion of Japan only a modern war would be worse for them. Unless they preempted or forced surrender.
I don't think the Chinese can reliably stop Taiwan from striking the three gorges dam and potentially drowning/displacing half a BILLION people.
