One of the biggest pitfalls of common discourse is allowing people who want you dead to define the argument. Thomas Sowell became prominent because he did not let the trappings of political arguments be the only possible answers. Stop using the term white, I’m Slavic, Germanic, and Nordic. This means me and people from the Mediterranean have fuck all in common but we are still classified the same. As an American I have nothing in common with Germans, yet I am classified in the same group. Playing by these stupid identity games only gives these quibbling retards validation. Want to discriminate legitimately? Use their culture. We already know that ghetto black culture is shit, we already know that central and South American culture is shit, we already know that Northwestern American culture is shit. The practices a culture implements shows over generations, black American who eat vegetables and don’t down hundreds of grams of sugar a day magically live past 65. Asian families have been growing taller in America thanks to access to real food. A culture defines your genetics tomorrow.

A lot of people don’t get how integrated black slaves and poor southerners were, the majority of “soul” and creole food is just French and Scottish with African spices. The southern culture in general was looked down upon as lazy and indolent.
I've tried to look into it some, but I do find it to be a struggle because it's a politicized topic. That's probably the true value of relying on a person like Sowell, is to get help cutting through the nonsense.
Admittedly, while I love some southern foods, some dishes are too wild for me. I imagine the idea of eating certain "disgusting creatures" and "unsuitable body parts" was a contributing force in looking down on that southern culture. It suits the laziness, though, as they would gladly eat what other cultures might consider trash. The upside was the creativity of making it taste good.
Theres plenty of historical references, my favorite to make hippies heads explode is to have them read the interviews done with former slaves where most of them said they had it better under slavery because being free meant you had to take care of yourself. Renegade History of the United States is a decent read on a lot of the southern laziness and debauchery.
