In the USSR work is a duty and a matter of honor for every able-bodied citizen, in accordance with the principle: "He who does not work, neither shall he eat".

Article 12 of the Soviet Constitution. (Amusingly, given godless commies and all, the origin is the New Testament, 2 Thessalonians 3:10)

Fact check (a real one, not as the media uses it): correct.

ARTICLE 12. In the U.S.S.R. work is a duty and a matter of honour for every able-bodied citizen, in accordance with the principle: "He who does not work, neither shall he eat."

The principle applied in the U.S.S.R. is that of socialism : "From each according to his ability, to each according to his work."
