For the most braindead doorstop job ever if you are not paying at least $20 an hour right now.
Yep. We're currently hemorrhaging production workers right now. Can't back fill any of the positions. A company across the street increased the starting pay to $20/hr. Guess where people are going?
I warned my own employer about that. I told them, explicitly, the dangers of inflation. I told them that a different competitor was going to make $20 /hr the starting wage, 0 experience, entry level.
They were shocked and actually didn't believe me.
I've been trying to warn them that shit's going sideways.
When I started, my boss said (before covid) "there's not going to be a recession". He's starting to slowly come around to realize that I'm not crazy.
