I know we have all rolled our eyes at the frequent headline "person who didn't think Covid was a big deal dies/is hospitalized", but how come we never see the opposite like "person who was paranoid about Covid is asymptomatic/has mild symptoms". For a "deadly" virus with around a 99% survival rate there has to be people that fit that bill.
Oh wait, I know a few myself. I've known about 20 people who had covid and all but 1 had very mild or no symptoms. The other person didn't have to go to the hospital but was in bed for a few days. Funny thing is that his wife and kids had started taking zinc supplements when Covid started and they had very minor symptoms. Also, all of the people I know who got it were super strict about masks and social distancing. A lot of the headlines of people who didn't take Covid seriously are usually people that are overweight and 50 or 60. So while I feel for them, they should've assessed their risk factor.
I was skeptical to begin with, but what really made me lose all credibility was when I saw the anti-lockdown protestors get constantly attacked in the media because they were killing grandma but once the "peaceful protests" started nobody said a peep and even some news sources like Time magazine ran an article saying that there was no evidence of virus spread in the protests. So I'm to believe that the same people who have a conniption fit about 30 people gathering at a church see zero problem with hundreds of people out in the street. Forgive me for expecting some consistency if this was a truly deadly virus.
I'm going to be 41 soon and when I was 30 I noticed I was really gaining weight so I started taking vitamins everyday and worked out more along with eating healthy 6 days a week and having Sunday be my cheat day. That has worked great for me and I notice in the last 10 years I rarely get sick and when I do, it isn't as severe as it once was. So there are definite benefits to eating better and exercise (even if I crave bbq/whataburger a lot). I know this isn't news to anyone but I feel like since Covid started the concept of exercise and trying to be healthy is foreign to the powers that be. I totally understand being cautious if you are in a high risk category or caring for a loved one in a high risk category.
I get so tired of people telling me that I am denying that the virus exists. I simply say I do agree it is real, but it isn't the apocalyptic event the press wants us to believe it is. First they push number of deaths, then case count, then hysteria about hospital beds (some hospital reps had to give press conferences here in Texas to refute that), and now we are on the variant phase. I feel like once this dies down they will ratchet up the fear porn with another variant.
Now imagine if they would've explained who is at a higher risk and also let us know that your health can be a factor as to how Covid affects you. Also imagine if they would've talked about different vitamins that could be taken that can help. But no, much easier to peddle fear and ban doctors who don't follow the gospel of Fauci.
You're thinking it's about the virus. It's about breaking us down with fear. I just don't know what the purpose is.
I think this guy summed it up pretty well.
