Why did he take the role? Because he’s subverting English history and mythos. He doesn’t want the face of English stories to be that an English man, an Anglo-Saxon, but rather the face of an non-European immigrant, of a new comer. He wants to take your place in your own history and heroic stories, and he wants to be celebrated for it.
For my part, I say no. Not now, not ever.

Ironically, I pulled a self-insert in my fervor to respond. Which is what I was trying to rail against in the first place. My sails need wind, where has it gone?
