What does it say about your reboot strategy when the best way to preserve fan interest is to deliberately lie about what is in the show? Instead of embracing the woke feminist direction as something he believes is legitimately good and worthwhile and attractive to viewers, Kevin Smith ran from it as decisively as he could. That's a pretty direct acknowledgement that such content is largely unwanted.
So they know this shit isn't popular, and yet they once again chose that direction. Sorta confirms the notion that most of this leftist idiocy in entertainment is ideologically motivated even to the utter detriment of profit.
With that in mind, I'm thinking maybe the lie wasn't just about duping more people into watching the show. Maybe leftist subversives can't get off unless the old school fans are actually ambushed by the destruction of their favorite franchises. I mean what joy is there in tearing down a man's childhood favorites if he's already resigned to your subversion? If he sees you coming from a mile away, you won't be able to extract the same satisfaction from his muted disappointment and frustration.
Sounds almost insane, but would you really put it past these people? One of the more choice critic reviewers even says that she enjoys the show primarily because she knows it pisses off the old school male fans. That's the level of petty spite and envy we are dealing with here.
With streaming services, these people make money whether we even watch the show or not. That's why they keep pushing their shitty agendas, they don't have to win over fan approval. They'll get royalty checks regardless.
The streaming model has disconnected (and insulated) woke products from the harsh appraisals of the marketplace. Without market forces deciding winners and losers, entertainment is allowed to go full-on propaganda without repercussion from closing wallets.
Oh shit. This is literally corporate communism. Interesting.
I like the term Corporate Marxism.
If you wonder why nearly all big corporations are Woke these days, a common excuse you will hear is that it "makes money" because all the "diversity" & "insert Woke buzzword term here" appeals to a broader market.
The truth is that corporations hired people with college degrees, assuming they were competent, not knowing these people were brainwashed into being crazy stupid Woke zombies. So you have all these Woke people advising the higher-ups who are older than dirt, and assume these Woke people "know what the young folks like".
Collages in western countries are Marxist brainwashing factories. This goes all the way back to the Soviet Union, as they had Communist infiltrating colleges as early as the 1930s. This accelerated with the Frankfurt School that developed the concept of Cultural Marxism. And all these collages get loads of money from the state to brainwash kids with Cultural Marxism, along with outright Marxism.
So Corporate Marxism may not make complete sense on its' face, but it is actually an accurate term to describe what it is happening with these Woke corporations.
