I was just about to say ... I mean, the feminine suffixes were the FIRST things to be attacked when "political correctness" was still just the stuff of "comedians" back in the mid-80s.
The real irony on top of all of this, is that certain terms - such as "waitress" and "stewardess" were the terms that were so common, I have come across men who didn't even realize that there were masculine terms for these jobs, and described themselves or other men unwittingly with the feminine titles.
