Ok, so, I made an account just to post this, after having been a perpetual lurker pretty much ever since this version of KIA2 went live...
Without doxxing myself too much, I live in this state, in Aus. Things here are... Odd, but I thought my perspective might be interesting to some.
Feminism is... In a more advanced state, in Australia, than it is in America or indeed in most of Europe. The best comparison I could give you is Sweden or Denmark. We're way ahead of Britain, too (in most ways), oddly enough. Hell, one of our states (not the one in question, though) was literally the first place in the world to give women the right to vote, in 1896!
So that's the first important contention to bear in mind, with this.
But then, and this is where it gets interesting: Tasmania has been far, far more conservative with Alphabet Soup rights, up until recently, than what you have in the US. Hell, even when I was born (the 90s), LGBTQ+++++ rights here were comparable to, say, Eastern Europe now, or, like, Russia...
I could give more details, but in short... Activists here even took the State Government to the UN, of all bloody things, to "get more rights". So there's that.
Oddly, though, in the 25 years or so since they decriminalised, well, sodomy, here, things have, umm... Flipped, honestly.
Yes, it took way longer for "gay marriage" to be a thing here, than where most of you presumably live. Yes, we took a bit longer to, honestly, become as degenerate, but hell, it is very much like the powers that be here are making up for lost time...
Shit here has become absolutely mental, and I honestly have to check myself every day to believe it has become like this.
For some absurd reason we seem almost determined to outdo Burgerstan (and the Canucks to your north) on your mad-arse intersectional bullshit, and to... Encourage shit like child drag queens (or even better, Aboriginal child drag queens!) at every possible opportunity... :-(
Why? Fuck knows. It's almost like a psyop.
But yeah, so, in that quarter of a century, less than the time I've been alive, the state I, for better or worse, grew up in, has somehow become one of the "wokest" places on Earth. The only places in Australia MORE woke than here (that you have heard of) are... Almost certainly Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide, or debatably inner-city Sydney... It's fucked.
TL;DR I am totally, completely and utterly unsurprised by this, and that same city, where this occurred, has just this week announced a "drag queen theatre troupe". In a conservative city, of less than 100k, with 97%ish white population.
So yeah, I'm living through this clown town right now. Wish me luck boys, lol.

Wow, I never thought I would read that Australia was out-Swedening Sweden!
The UK had been quite busy out-Swedening Sweden lately, but that is a surprising contender on the Sweden race to out-Sweden Sweden!
