so, only point to gather is that hes recent era gamer, not old era gamer; another point to understand that he is game journalist, ones that are generally paid by megalith corporations to favorably review their latest game output
Well, I started playing games with Space Invaders back in 1977 (I was 8 or 9 when the first cabinet hit our local mall), and you know what? I think most old games suck balls and modern games are much better in a lot of ways (and being more accessible to more people with more different types of games is not a terrible thing) ... and even the old games I still like and occasionally still play (such as Diablo 1 and Darksun) could really, really use modern remakes/overhauls (oh, for a Dungeon Hack remaster. Or for a bigger, bolder _SimEarth that doesn't want to divide by zero every hour.) Even so, being young doesn't mean he hasn't played any of these, as they're still available, if not through GoG for cheap, then through Abandonware sites for free.
I haven't bought RDR2 yet (waiting for either a steam sale or consoles to become buyable at a normal vendor at a normal price), but I honestly have not heard it be slagged beyond being a very slow-burn kind of game.
Though the point about them all sucking off payola of various types isn't wrong, maybe it'd be worthwhile to think about a world in which any "journalist" who says something positive about anything is automagically assumed to be paid off (and this needs to be communicated to that crowd specifically ...) In a World where All Media is Tass and Pravda ...
