It's honestly depressing how many grifters there are out there taking advantage of people on the right. If it included a from-scratch OS rewrite it might justify the price tag, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
Its depressing because it keeps happening with such ease. Shows just how broken and desperate many are just to be acknowledged, let alone a little catering to.
It shows how gullible they are, expecially when it comes to technology and privacy. Just look at Parler, Gettr and this Freedom Phone nonsense. These guys are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on a privacy respecting phone when they could just flash a custom ROM on existing devices if they really cared. It's foolish and lazy.
I kinda understand why many would spend money on it. For people who can barely save a file on pc,flashing a custom firmware on a phone will not be easy. You have to think that not everyone is a uber hax0r, or technically savvy enough to flash a firmware.
My phone is using an unlocked android and unlocked region. Of my whole family, I am the only one capable of doing it. I have relatives so technologically averse that they think an error window asking you to close an unresponsive program is the hardest thing in the world.
