You don't remove statues of General Lee unless you literally want to destroy the United States of America. If the left were the liberals they pretended to be, they would hold Lee up as an example for others to follow, a man who worked to reconcile the former Confederacy with the Union and prevent the kind of lasting feud that we see elsewhere in the world. But they want to unbury that hatchet because of their own deranged hatred.
Isn't he basically the antithesis of their worldview? He was against secession and only sided with the Confederacy because his home state of Virginia ended up seceding and he refused to fight against his own local community. They absolutely prefer people to readily abandon anything and anyone if it goes against the "correct choices".
Its all about programming.
