At that point there was nothing short of military-enforced house arrest with ration delivery that could have ended this. Instead we got never-ending, extensive violations of out basic human rights for a year ( discounting Summer reopening ) for a virus with a 99.8% survival rate.
No "variant" the government is threatening us with lockdowns for was ever stopped by "volontary self-isolation" or the 3 days hotel stays.
