You could argue that feminist lost it's exclusive grip on the media that it had before I suppose. But I disagree with the rest of it.

The spa shootings killed, what, eight women? This was a perfect excuse to trot out all of the usual feminist talking points about "toxic masculinity" and "our culture of misogyny". So why wasn't that the mainstream media narrative?

Because it no longer served their purpose like it did in years before.

When the war is winding down there is no purpose in trying to rile people up again. They may well have been trying to recruit asians to the "war effort" but all the people riled up by "the women are in danger" have already taken sides.
