Shall we take some time to look away from the dumpster fire of modernity and embrace our roots with a bit of vidya discussion? I’d love to have some recommendations of what’s good, and I’m sure others would as well.
I honestly probably already have enough games, but it’s hard to turn down a good sale. So tell me, what should I keep an eye out for?
I see that Hitman: Blood Money is on sale for $2.49. A fair price for a 15 year old game. If you like the post-Absolution Hitman games, this is its main progenitor and an excellent game in its own right if perhaps a bit dated. But it is my favorite game of all time that I wore out a PS2 playing, so I am perhaps biased.
Hitman 2 is also on sale, which I will probably pick up since I don't have it and now have a Windows PC powerful enough to run it.
One thing to research before you buy the newer games: there are countless editions and Hitman 2 & 3 have editions that include the earlier games (1 & 2). IIRC there are also upgrade editions if you have some part of the earlier games. And of course each one of them has half a dozen stand-alone editions with and without DLC, special editions, etc. It's ... a mess. Hitman 1 (2016) was pretty good though.
Yes I noticed all the various editions when I was looking at the Steam page for the game. Just figuring out exactly what I want looks like it will be quite the affair. Fortunately I have a couple weeks to sort it all out.
I have Hitman 1 and agree it's a pretty good game. Which also means I don't need to buy the levels again if they're part of some Hitman 2 bundle.
