I'm not beyond thinking china bluffed them into overcorrecting a mild flu and causing much more self inflicted damage with their cure.
Now we are at a crossroads where they at once-- can't admit china screwed them. Can't go back on any of their statements (somewhere between losing public confidence and tipping their hand that china's gambit worked really really well) and can't rebuke all the conspiracy with proper information because they lie all the freaking time about everything ON TOP of all this. They pushed pushed vaccine too hard now they're stuck with it. Even if they came out tomorrow with a genuine vaccine that worked, what do they tell the people that have already taken faulty ones (or two or three or several) and how do they convince the independent thinkers that this time they are being genuine and honest. The people who died from the vaccine, do they now say "oops our bad"?
They can't. They are stuck. They can only double down on their terrible solutions. Meanwhile the half assed, dishonest patchwork solutions are causing mutations and variants that they can't or won't be able to work around. And china does the elephant walk around the globe
