"The opposition boycotted the vote except for lawmakers from the nationalist Jobbik party who supported the changes."
This is a tactic insane opposition parties in the west LOVE to pull. They love to "boycott" votes and then when it passes unanimously, they complain that they're being oppressed. Yes, really - they refuse to use the power people elected them to use, and they complain about it. Lmao. Then international media smears the government for being oppressive (yes, it works sometimes, in terms of optics).
I don't fully agree with this though, it's a pretty shitty and overly broad law, unless the article is dishonest. Teaching kids gay and straight people exist is fine, but obviously LGBT advocacy aimed at kids is grooming and should be prosecuted. Also "minors" seems way too broad. I'm undecided on this so far.
Teaching kids gay and straight people exist is fine
Why?
This doesn't benefit kids in anyway. Gays are, by the very rules of Natural Selection, unnatural. There is literally no reason or benefit to teach kids about this. It's like teaching kids that herpes exist. Why?
What a completely nonsensical question. If you're going to teach kids about sexuality, you're going to tell them that there's a small amount of people who like the same sex too because it's factual and pertinent, and you'd think knowing things would be seen as a good thing. Brains don't have a limited capacity, you're not going to run out of memory, lmao.

People engage in BDSM and watersports, too. So should kids learn about those fetishes as well because they're factual?
You provided a non-answer for a question in response to an asinine statement.
As I said, there is ZERO reasons why kids need to be taught about homosexuality in any capacity. It provides a net zero benefit to their knowledge base and there is ZERO benefit to include any aspect of that knowledge to their life.
There is no argument you can make to justify why kids should learn it, because despite it being factual (like a lot of perverse things are), it is in no way pertinent.
