A society and culture that doesn't raise people right, which doesn't acknowledge or even attempts to fulfill their needs and to extent desires, or actively promotes harm towards them, naturally impacts and shapes individuals, including their choices, actions, and mental health which informs both.

I think you're almost getting it right. It's not about 'society' not acknowledging people fulfilling their needs, but rather that people grow up without any sense of purpose whatsoever.

It's hard to see how whites and Indians are 'defeated people'. On average, whites have a higher living standard than most other racial groups. And in the case of tranvestites, you have a sky-high suicide rate not causecd by anyone else.
