I thought ATLA was pretty good. But yeah, that's a list of one and I'll be very pleasantly surprised if this Helm Hammerhand series turns out OK.
The only slightly encouraging sign I've gotten out of this article is that it's being done by New Line (who produced the movie trilogy) rather than Amazon. It also seems they hired Kenji Kamiyama to direct it, but I can't say I'm 100% confident that's going to turn out great - LOTR is obviously a very different kettle of fish compared to Ghost in the Shell.
Yeah you're right, I just misread the original comment I was replying to & wanted to acknowledge it earlier but I see now that even after an hour, my edits still won't register on this site for some reason. Oh well.
I have not seen one good anime that has been aimed at the west. Everything backed by Netflix has been absolute shit.

ATLA isn't anime. It's just a cartoon. There's plenty of decent cartoons out there. Wakfu, ATLA, Batman TAS, Cybersix. But they're western.

Eh, edits show up or don't on this site, all good.
Don't worry. This LOTR anime is going to have a LOT of hobbit nudity.
Voltron Legendary Defender had a few good episodes. If you keep in mind that the target audience is, y'know, like... elementary school kids.
I don't consider that one anime since it doesn't even look like it's made by japs.
Edit: Yeah, I looked it up. Zero Jap involvement with the animation company being Korean.
