I really enjoyed Season 1 of Megalo Box. It was a high octane feel good boxing anime.
Season 2 has had a tonal shift focusing on depression, redemption and immigration.
Ten episodes of Season 2 have aired and it has been decent overall but there have been blatant nods in first 4 episodes of the show that pushes the sentiment that mass immigration is a good thing and the show purposely portrays migrants as just unlucky but good people suffering from discrimination.
This interview is illuminating as the writers seemingly admit they purposely put in pro-mass migration rhetoric.
This interview includes snippets where they also talk about the main protagonist suffering from "toxic masculinity".
I am not sure if I should take this interview seriously since it was conducted by Anime News Network which is a woke outlet. It is possible that the original Japanese writers and producer did not even use this woke terminology and they just "localized" the interview.
When it comes to immigration issues, I'm no expert, but I took inspiration from the news and documentaries I'd seen until now to construct the story and create the images.
The immigrants and their families came to Japan to flee persecution in their homeland
To be fair he's not lying about the Kurds being oppressed, Saddam did gas a few thousand of them and Turkey does other horrible things to them as well. The top part is complete bullshit and he's obviously been fully propagandized though.
I've been wondering what the Japanese are taking away from Western media. They seem to have a bunch of little anti-trump jokes here and there, and like some of Black culture, while still being relatively impervious to letting the diversity narrative influence how they conduct their own immigration policies. It looks like cracks are forming though in anime and manga and putting in more PC stuff. I think they probably think Whites really are discriminating against Brown people and that everyone in America owns a gun. I don't think they would be aware of how much the Western media is against it's own people.
The director wasn't talking about whites though. He was talking shit about his own country and complaining about japanese people being "racist and discriminatory against immigrants " cause he got brainwashed by some "news and documentaries" about it. Japan is getting screwed too.
I just found out about this series yesterday! it looked cool but seemed to have a bunch of brown people in it. Wasn't sure if I was walking into a bunch of mildly PC stuff with cool animation and should avoid. I Think I'll still give it a try, seems to have good music too!

From what I see, the new season is not popular domestically, and the writers admitted to putting this stuff in.
Drop time if you’re watching it.
Red flags all over.

Yeah, they said the same things about Islamic British refugees back in the day.
Letting all those refugees into their country is not working out so well for Britain right now.
NOOPE!
