I do actually have a little sympathy for the guy. Since infant mortality rates have improved to the point that the later children of the monarch really are spares, they're all kinda trainwrecks:
Princess Margaret;
Prince Andrew;
Prince Edward (not as much as Andrew, but part of what the Royals do is serve their time in the military. Edward conspicuously failed to do this);
And now, Prince Harry.
It's a cloying, confining lifestyle, I can see a lifetime of very few choices resulting in aberrant behaviour.
