We didn't accept it. We weren't asked. Our long-term strategy was defined by the church but the democratic revolutions fully replaced the clergy with the merchants. Our new strategy is: money, money, money. Preserving our culture and our race creates no immediate profit so it is treated as an obstacle to progress. And the greediest actor is the socialist state, who loves spending other people's money.
Ok so imagine that you as a foreigner are dropped into a village full of Chinese people. They don't know you, they don't like you, and they don't want you there. They refuse to give you a job, refuse to rent you a room, refuse to serve you food in their restaurants, refuse to even talk to you, other than to make it known that you don't belong and aren't wanted. What then?
Do they need to "elect a leader" to fix the problem? Or did they just exclude you from their society and make life literally impossible there? Illegals come because people here don't seem to mind. They hire them, encourage speaking their language, rent out rooms to them, etc. That is acceptance.
If people really didn't want it, it wouldn't happen. I think the truth is that people are ambivalent and don't really care. The fear of being a racist is stronger to them than their desire to preserve the country.

How did it happen if people didn't accept it? There is no majority imposing their will on whites.
