I don't know on the rescinding based social messages. The first few seasons did have base social messaging and did a decent job of it. Hell that Our Town episode was based as fuck when giving a look into a communist police state looks like for kids. I wasn't expecting to see something like that from MLP.
Anyone who gets too into fandom can start acting like that.
I watched the first 3 episodes years ago to get an idea of the show. It was well made, by people who cared. The designer even stepped in and designed new characters for one of the fan games after Hasbro stepped in. I think it was the fighting game. I didn't watch more, and have no desire to, but I think there's something to be said for media done by creators that care for their product and customers, rather than wanting to burn it all down. That could explain the large fanbase.
What the hell, is going on over there? I haven't seen any MIL stuff in years after my relatives kids moved on to other cartoon series.
