This mob was taking active efforts to avoid harming the police. Early in the video, one cop was completely surrounded 3-people deep in all directions, and they ferried him back to the cop line instead of beating him. This "Mostly Peaceful Protest" ^TM really was, in terms of lethality intended.

Yeah I noticed that immediately. The people gathered helped that cop get back, rather than hurt him or worse.
