Generally speaking you have women who probably don't get so much as a passing glance from people in real life and suddenly--if they're interesting--they have all sorts of people** throwing all sorts of attention they've never gotten before their way. Just as money changes people, I would not be surprised if all this attention they're now getting influences them.
