On the other hand, I take stuff like this to mean that Cheney and her ilk know they are screwed. The populist and "America First" conservative types are already starting to primary out the squishes, and they are giving the double-barreled middle finger to the GOPe types in the process. And while the GOPe wants to stop them, they really cant because the state level parties (who hold most of the power over the RNC) have already been taken over by the populist and "America First." So the squishy GOPe is on borrowed time, they know it.
And I imagine the Dems know it too and its why they are going power drunk as if to say "HUUUURRRRY! ITS OUT ONLY CHANCE!!"

In some ways, the 2020 loss might have been a good thing. If anything, it has certainly galvanized the MAGA nationalists into driving out the Neocons, which would make the Republican party stronger than it has been in a very long time. Never a better time to do it either, as the Republican voter base sees the Neocons as traitors! They really should have got aboard the Trump train when they had the chance, now it's the Lincoln Project or bust for their ilk.
Its why I think the future is brighter. A lot of the places that had fraud in 2020 are now rolling back the measures that made that happen in the first place, to the substantial reeing of the usual suspects. Which results in backlashes that just further alienate people, such as in Georgia. You also continue to see Dems in some areas starting to flip to being Republican because they hate the DSA types taking over the party, which might actually put Nevada in an interesting position (They recently saw the ENTIRE state Dem organization quit because the DSA took them over).
Because much like with Obama, the Dems, and more specifically the Left Wing of the party, are making the mistake that they are no unbeatable, the future will be permeant Dem rule, and they must govern as if they will never lose again.
In reality, their hold on power is so narrow they are having to claw in with their fingernails, the Republican base is mad as hell and itching to find any way to pry them away, their antics are alienating normies (who are now starting to realize that the problem wasnt Trump), and some initial info even shows they may be alienating some Asian groups and Hispanic groups as the realities of their Id-Pol catches up to them.
The near future will absolutely suck, especially if you live in a Blue State. But history shows that the US has this unnatural ability to bounce back from issues that have destroyed other nations, and I feel it will happen again. The establishment tries to puff up its power, but they know its all a house of cards that is getting very unstable with each passing day.
Anyone who uses the term 'dog whistle' is not a serious person.
The fact that the GOP leadership is full of people like this guy and Liz Cheney speaks volumes for why the party is as useless as it is.
