We're in Canada. I have met FAR too many people who speak each of these languages to know better than to think "no one" will understand. Though nowadays, you mostly hear non-European crap, but still. My entire neighbourhood growing up was like a Little Balkans, ffs, more Orthodox and non-Roman Catholic than WASPs.
Greek would probably be better, because people just think they "know" the letters, but they don't. But there's a lot of Greeks around, too, at least where I'm from (if not where I'm at for now).
Hell, my husband and I are considering learning it or something similar, just to have an obscure way to communicate freely in public.
