Player count is possibly also down because they took it off of steam so for pc they are only pulling in traffic from epic game store. It’s also a game that’s over 5 years old at this point so player count drops regardless of tweets. The “virtue signallers” are probably one social media manager or community manager who would not get blamed for a 6 year old game losing players.
So artist, programmers, and designers that had nothing to do with it will all lose their jobs. Kind of a crappy thing to wish on someone because the intern running their social media accounts doing what the pr team told them to. But again, a drop in players and an uptick of events for a 6 year old game has nothing to do about some dumb tweet about feminism
The harsh reality is that when a company commits seppuku, it's not just the people who made the bad decisions who gets fired. It's everyone who failed to prevent the bad decision, and stuck around after for long enough that the bad decision had consequences.
The reality of the situation is that their drop in players has been going on for a while and not related to a social media post. They had a huge surge in players in sept. after an update and have had a steady drop off across all platforms. You know like most games. https://steamcharts.com/app/252950
And I’m aware of what happens to companies when they make bad decisions. But acting like the entire company has a say in the virtue signaling social media post that all tech companies participate in is stupid. Even dicks sporting goods/ field and stream are still in business after screwing over gun owners. Their profits were down but they are no closer to going under. Same with Nike and the kapernick bs.

That's true, but if the game gets shut down, everyone involved will be fired. That's my goal.

That's the whole point of boycotting...the goal is to bankrupt the target. At least, that's how I always saw it.
I guess we'll have to see. I'm really hoping it is and that people are drawing a line. One day for them is enough, a whole month is insanity.
Any statistics on how many people are boycotting the game over a women’s month tweet?
