Not too surprising. There are so many accounts with virtue signaling that it will happen eventually, and most PR or social media people are on the progressive side. Unless a higher up at the company explicitly says "Avoid controversial issues or you'll be in trouble" then it's up to people like HR, and you know how that will end up.
If it were anything conservative in that name - Trump, MAGA, Brexit, anything like that, I guarantee they would not have retweeted it.
I've learned not to give situations like this the benefit of the doubt. I used to, but after observing for enough years, you realise that this is how it starts, propagates and perpetuates.
If you don't hold companies to account for signal boosting your enemy, they will ONLY signal boost your enemy, and then, they will BECOME your enermy.
We MUST attack companies who do this, or we WILL lose. Leftists have understood this for decades, but trying to drill this into a conservative seems almost impossible.
Are we sure they retweeted it when BLM was there? Not that they shouldn't remove it now, presuming they monitor their Twitter for that, hell this was in November). I went and looked today and that same retweet is full of pronouns and such today. So that name change shows up after-the-fact.
I know we try to be tough on this stuff, but from a developer that seems to be not woke and the content of the tweet is not even slightly political at all, I'm just not convinced this warrants crucifixion.

You've got too much faith.

Attack. Attack. ATTACK.
It's possible that they either didn't notice or didn't care and were retweeting because it mentioned their product in a positive light.
I guarantee they would not have retweeted it were six months ago and that user's name had #Trump2020 in it.
