This story is a good reminder that where there is smoke, there is fire. Normal, well-adjusted, non-medicated, and sane individuals do not up and decide to be gay, trans, or pedo. These "decisions" are always the result of serious trauma during youth. I would define trauma here as physical or sexual abuse and/or severely dysfunctional household dynamics.
So when we see a person like this Ashton Davis, it is a safe bet that they are not right in the head. I don't say that mockingly. Quite the opposite. I have tremendous sympathy for victims of abuse, especially children. Sadly, we live in a time where victims are encouraged to act out in life-ruining ways, rather than getting them the support and therapy they desperately need.
So never assume that the trans person is normal and sane, but just wants to change their gender (which is not possible). We are just seeing the outward effects of their damaged psyche. Further, you need never be surprised when horrible things about these people come to light. All the clues were there from the outset.
One of the saddest examples of this is Nancy Verhelst in Belgium. Her parents were misogynists who emotionally abused her because they wanted another son. Doctors evidently agreed with her parents, because instead of helping her come to grips with being the child of assholes, they enabled her transition to becoming a man. This predictably only made things worse and she became suicidal, and the doctors again agreed and had her put down.
I had never heard of her. Just read about her and it is a terrible story all around. Sadly, we cannot pick our parents. Further proof that if we don't identify the root cause of our issues, we have no hope of ever overcoming them. Anyone that tells you hacking off body parts will sort out your mental issues is as sick as you are.
