I like that they mention the value of useful skills. A lot of these prepper type things seem to go for the all in on the notion that the only way to survive is to go all in on being an off the grid farmer or pity on you. I've just this week traded skills and equipment that I had and others didn't for dinner, and while it wasn't a formal barter, it's still something that would be totally valuable in such a SHTF situation. That's always what I've considered my fallback if we get to the worst of the worst, trading skills for sustenance.
I learned real quick in this overblown ice thing in Texas though, if we ever get to that point, there's going to be a ton of bodies in the streets. Because there's so many people who's survival ability is in the single digit number of hours.
