How do you respond to people who tell you that you are being selfish if you don’t treat Covid like the zombie apocalypse where millions are dying each day?
I live in Texas and the governor recently lifted the mask mandate. Now a lot of businesses will still require them but so many people are freaking out and local news agencies are only talking to “experts” that think this is a horrible decision. I fear this may cost him the election because now the local and national media will go into hysterics over any cases let alone deaths.
And of course now there are people posting on Facebook that they choose to wear a mask. So virtuous and brave. To me it’s counterproductive to make a fuss at a store about it so I wear it where required but I’m very comfortable going without one.
It's funny how they will use the fact that the flu has pretty much disappeared as evidence masks work. How about someone shows up with flu-like symptoms, gets a test we know to be super sensitive for Covid, it's positive, and they don't bother testing for the flu. Or the fact that in some places you can't even visit the doctor if you're sick but not hospital-level.
