Aren't the kpopstars popular with the women though? I don't think the connection is obvious at all.

I don't see it either as women are willing to pay big money for the Kpop tickets just to see them live. "Stans" literally worship their Kpop idols like how weebs worship their waifus.

But in South Korea, Kpop is most popular with teen girls because the lyrics are apparently cheesy af. But because no one understands Korean, it's a worldwide phenomenon, especially with the women.
