If you are ever called a white supremacist by a leftard, this is what they mean.

The more I listen the more I understand that the concept of personal responsibility and personal agency are incompatible with modern leftist dogma.
Firstly it's incompatible because it undermines their whole "oppression" narrative, if you look at almost every issue that the left says is oppressing someone it is undermined if you point out that the group being "oppressed" does things that contribute to their bad situation.
I mean the reason the whole 13/50 statistic became a meme was because pointing out the fact that black people are disproportionately committing violent crimes may have some relevance as to why blacks have a higher rate of arrests/police encounters/incarceration was considered a "hate fact". No one disputes that the statistic is false, they just refuse to consider it. And it goes back to personal responsibility, because now what was previously a conversation about police "oppressing" "helpless" black people raises questions about whether or not this individual black person's actions were the main reason for his/her situation.
The second reason is that it also undermines their "solution" which is always "more government" if we accept that people have the ability and capacity to fix/improve their situation then there's no need to expand the size of the government. Leftists will say that we NEED to have more govt committees and more institutions and more regulations to fix the problem, which means more bureaucracy and a more bloated government that not only fails consistently at "fixing" the problem but makes it harder for people to fix it themselves, thus creating a greater need for even more government.
