the jews that cause issues (for others), are defended and supported by the other jews. Also your argument is essentially "blame the goy for what the jews do" again (Cause jew can never do wrong right? Only the Goy). Also Erev rav story is more about how "Gentiles are bad for jews" is not about what troubles jews might cause for others , at all.
