This week alone, people were fired from the New York Times, the Niskanen Center, and Fox News for making conservatives mad

It’s equally amazing that people tweet disingenuous nonsense like this, when conservatives have been for ages pointing out that when it comes to speech the left has become exactly what it purported to hate.

You have to understand, nobody in media was ever hounded out of a job until liberals started doing it a few years ago. ESPECIALLY not me.

Well it just started happening to me or people who share my beliefs, which means it’s entirely new ;;;

And to clarify what I mean here: left-wing harassment campaigns generally stem from an honestly stated principle, rightly or wrongly applied, sometimes slathered in irony. Reactionary campaigns are less about principle than power, however.

Some right wingers, again speaking in bad faith, will say something to the effect of "live by the sword, die by the sword." Arguing that liberals and lefties are just getting a taste of their own medicine. But the issue is that one side is sincere and the other simply is not.
This is what I mean about the sincerity gap. Even the more repugnant left-wing harassment campaigns are carried out in the name of some broad principle (opposing classism, say). This is different, despite superficial similarities.
Why leftists always get away genocide. Useful idiots and being leftists.
I always find it hard to believe that alleged adults can rationalize this shit. "Well, my side is righteous and pure, even when they do bad stuff."
It's such fucking nonsensical black and white bullshit, it's absurd. If your argument comes down to "X side is good/moral, Y side is evil," you may need to rethink some things. Especially if you're using it to rationalize bad behavior. Because life just ain't that simple, and if you use that line of argument...you're probably part of the problem.
It's so fucking frustrating, too, because I've talked to these people; you almost literally can't get them to see how backward their argument is. No matter what you say, you can't convince them the logic is full of holes and is justifying the paving to hell with those "good intentions." Nope. Good Guys are Good, and Bad Guys are Bad: Actions don't matter, only my biased applications of moralism matter.
They're so set in their beliefs and their moralistic outlook that, even though the logic is just patently absurd on its face, you're almost certainly not going to be able to get them to realize such basic things.
These are often not dumb people. They're just a little twisted, and have bought into some really bad thought patterns, often due to absolutism and utopianism. They honestly do want a better world. They just aren't trying to find a way to that world that can actually mesh with reality.
they aren't people. they're programmed things.
