What can be possibly done? All the other problems can be addressed but I feel like DNS is the final filter. We can't flee "muh private corporations" if we depend solely on other private corporations to not pull the domain from under our feet. Thoughts?

Yeah I think something like this particular site could easily exist in a place like Iceland or the Netherlands where they are pretty light-handed on internet censorship. I don't think it's a big enough target. I set up my own mail server last year and I was going to start with the Dutch, but payment issues was being finicky so I ended up keeping in the US. That was a lazy duck-out for what's essentially my personal e-mail though and not a public forum. The foreign stuff can be done and not all that difficult to do.
TheDonald.win on the other hand is a big target to them, so they have their work cut out for themselves. This KiA2 site is just at risk because it's a subsidiary to that.
