I mean, the story is basically 'before I had any clue what was going on in the world, my parents drilled their politics into my head and I regurgitated the things they gave me approval for'.

There's nothing terribly unlikely about that sequence of events, and it doesn't make her look good, or cute. It makes her look like an NPC.
