Yeah, I'm quite aware. Which is exactly why I say the group here shouldn't be patting themselves on the back. We're looking at a group of people that wanted to show off how left wing they were, while at the same time claiming this movement to be apolitical.
Not to mention that the part of GG being "right about everything" only pertains to games journalism. Other than that, it's wanting games to be neutral, which is a completely inane thing to desire when you want to be part of the free expression crowd. Or how about the stupid phrases that no one gets called on like the "I just wanted to play vidya" or "I didn't change, the left just became crazy" type of shit where it just shows that they don't even have two brain cells to rub together.
Also just as always, people fall back on throwing in the rep/cons at me whenever I criticize this group. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised about it coming from people that need to preface their political statements with the "I don't like Trump but..." spiel. Because whoever you do or don't like apparently impacts your creditability.
Having a significant population cons/libertarians doesn't mean anything if we don't say anything about some of the idiotic things that get promoted or are considered fine. I didn't pick those quotes earlier for nothing. I've heard them multiple times, across many different people, for years. Regretfully, I do think more should've been said back then, definitely way before there was a need for a KIA2.
It's funny about that stonetoss comic that GG got up in arms about. He was right, even if it was an accident. People only cared when it came after something they liked. They didn't care when it happened to people they didn't like. Nor did they learn despite all these years. Worse still would be that being a redpilling moment only lead to a lot of people thinking it's only just a recent thing and not something seeping in over many years if not decades.
I'll give you that GG did find plenty of things. That was a bit of a rash statement by myself.
Considering the people that are/were considered part of "GG", I don't think that the group here should be patting themselves on the back.
