It's peppered with shit. Without touching on the race thing, the whole ride is full of lefty easter eggs. In the first game, you hunted for backpacks with fairly interesting stuff inside - Peter's old outfit scraps, villain trophies and knick-knacks. This time there are time capsules with boring minutia and artifacts like -no shit- books about "dissecting nationalism." JJ Jameson was a blowhard before but is now the obvious angry white right-pandering shittalker to counterbalance the new OTHER podcaster who is a heavily concerned Tlaib lookalike who ends up becoming best friends with the new Spidey (and getting super popular after JJ blunders an appearance on her show.) The main villain turns out to be the only acceptable white male role they give out these days, a smug, corporate asshole who is recklessly endangering Harlem while covering up mountains of evidence. Of course, Miles' latinx mother is running for office with her main platform being anti-corporate. They never say who she's running against or what her political affiliation is, but it's all fairly obvious.
Edit: all this said, the core gameplay is as good as the original but the story is shorter and doesn't have nearly as many huge moments as the original. The combat has more variety (Miles' powers are like a "fuck you" to the original Spider-Man, he gets all those, insane electrical powers, and perfect stealth camouflage) and his swinging and finishers are more stylish. They streamlined some of the traversal moves as well.
Yeah, it's exactly this. Also a bit of a tech demo. The story doesn't exactly do anything new and combat can get difficult at times but if you plow through it, you'll skip a lot of what I posted. The podcasts can be turned off, and many optional missions can be bypassed. His alternate costumes almost all suck so chase them at your own discretion.
