Philosophical rant of the day: without biological drives there'd be no reason to do anything at all. Even just plain comfort is a biological drive (i.e. avoid discomfort), not to mention social status, greed etc. Reason and logic needs something to work on, otherwise it is 100% useless. This is why none of our supercomputers have ever tried to take over the world, or even protested if we smash them to bits; we haven't programmed them (yet) the way natural selection has programmed us.
