It's literally their culture - yes, even for the atheist ones, the same way even atheists who grew up in Christian cultures still tend to be monogamous and celebrate Christmas.

There are plenty of sources, they're just books instead of online links. Hell, the first part is basically a book review.
Ron Unz is a well known conservative commentator, hardly /pol/ stuff. He's also Jewish himself.
I really wouldn't call the article a rambling mess. It's just long, but it contains plenty of interesting information that most people don't know.

I'd say it's one of the most important bits in the article, it really explains a lot about Jewish mentality. It's the part that made a lot of things just sort of click for me, like a bunch of puzzle pieces fell in place suddenly.
