Cause it does not necessarily fall under blackmail law, for one. If some pathetic loser is angry at his girlfriend for breaking up with him and puts her pictures online, that is not blackmail if he did not threaten her first.

Besides, as they said in the UK, text messages are worthless in a criminal trial. (because they were too useful at stopping false accusations)

Why would you need text messages if there is no evidence at all that you put something online?
