Most people don't have the time to sift through what the government can and cannot do. There are trillions of pages on this stuff. We need minimal government and minimal laws. Putting cameras on your property and coming in with guns is tyranny. Citizens should be able to start blasting without any issues.
That's usually how things start out. Then somebody abuses something that's unregulated to an extent that requires a new law. Repeat over hundreds of years and you're back to trillions of pages.
