I very much enjoyed it. It had a great story, fantastic characters, didn't suffer from 100 cameo's every episode, treated me like I was an adult who could understand what's going on without an explanation, and most importantly didn't feel like it was written by people who hate the average Star Wars fan. Easily the best Star Wars since Rogue One.
With that being said, I am concerned about the second season, and I think it may be wise for anyone else who enjoyed the show to also prepare for the bait-and-switch. I do not trust these Hollywood writers and directors to not take advantage of a show about a rebellion against an empire and spin it into an anti-Trump, anti-White, anti-man, anti-Christian affair. It would be so easy for them to shove it in, and it would be very disappointing to me.
If they take this political angle, I expect another round of the 2017-2018 TLJ media and fan response which will take out a third crucial chunk of the fanbase. The first chunk left after TLJ, never to return. The second chunk left after the Obi-Wan show, who were the people that were willing not give up after the Sequel Trilogy. This last chunk of people, me included, are the type that will go in and out depending on the show or movie being released. If Lucasfilm does go through with the bait-and-switch (again, it's a show about rebellion, it has to be extremely tempting for some people involved in the production) you will likely lose me and those willing to just avoid the bad products for good.
With the plane crash from Kazakhstan, more information has come out that makes it look like the jet was hit with some sort of SAM or MANPAD, and that it flew a route close to an area where Russia has positioned larger amounts of air defense batteries to counter Ukrainian drones. This is added onto the two passenger jets that were shot down over Ukraine over the past decade.
Why do these passenger jets keep flying danger close or in some cases directly over an active warzone? I know plane range and fuel costs are a big concern, but as a passenger I’d prefer to not fly in a big slow juicy target over an area filled with air defenses whose commanders have to treat every blip on the radar as a potential suicide drone trying to ram into their allies? Even with transponders, the chaos of war can make it very easy for things to go wrong (see the USS Gettysburg shooting down that F-18). It seems very risky and quite stupid of the airlines. If I wanted risk while flying I’d sign up for the Air Force, not buy a Malaysian Airlines ticket.
It seems that it took 2 days for a new militia group to rise up and topple Assad’s government. I assume that there are foreign supported militias by the US, Israel and Russia, and of course Russia is strangling out Ukraine which takes up more of its time.
Oh my goodness I do not remember it being this much of a chore to play. Crashing at various loading screens, half the time it doesn't save beforehand. The disk is clean, my console doesn't have any issues with any of the other games I have. Is this a specific problem to BO2, an age issue or did Xbox send out some update recently that breaks games? I don't have access to another disk to see if it's a hardware issue.
Modern day slop or decent movie?
2023 was a strange year, both good and bad (mostly bad). 2024 should be insane, and I hope you've mentally prepared for it. I'm sure this election year will make 2020 look tame and boring as we move further along the destruction of the once-great West.

Permabanned from a longtime account on my primary subreddit, and given an administrative sitewide temp ban for a few days for something that is stupid.
If you've heard of the Matt Araiza situation, you'll probably have an idea of how this happened. I was asking if we had known anything more about the girl who had lied about the whole thing or if she was getting off scot free. Permabanned for doxing (or attempted doxing, something stupid). This was buried deep on a thread about it, with a couple upvotes, and I got permabanned for it. When I asked why they were protecting the identity of a liar willing to ruin someone's life, boom this morning hit with a temp ban across the entire site. Oh well. My account was definitely not targeted for any other reason because I avoid politics entirely on that stupid site, so here I am.
