This episode somehow got rated 9.6 - basically the Shawshank redemption treatment - and I have no idea why, it's genuinely not funny at all, except for one sequence, where Cartman attempts suicide (won't say more), but that's 30 seconds.

Aside from that, the episode is very empty, it's obvious Parker and the other sucker have no idea how tariffs work, and everything felt reheated, fake and hollow.

No clue why there is a controversy. It was boring as f. No clue why it's rated this high. A genuine mystery - it's all really because they insulted Trump?

I made an account a few weeks ago to communicate in a few subreddits about a few hobbies I still have (running being one of them, nutrition, etc).

Spend a week farming "karma" so I can make an actual post. Have to upvote random comments and post random replies on dozens of threads to be granted the privilege to ask a question on "reddit."

Finally manage to make a post to ask questions on running sub. I am spam flagged. Post doesn't show up on another browser. Write to mods, they never reply. Write another days later, no replies.

Find a similar subs. Go looking around, reddit immediately spam flags your post if it contains certain words (for instance, in my post, I used "black shoes" - maybe that's it?). Make another post but this time edited more cleanly. Use ChatGpt to get literally perfect Reddit wording.I get a bot reply telling me my post has been removed for not respecting title post format. OK, fair enough.

Make a new post with the title format. I am blocked from making new post for 15 mins. Wait 15 mins, make a new post, it is spam flagged. "Too many posts in too short time."

Write to mods again. I get banned and muted (???). Go to my profile page from another browser, I am now shadowbanned (I wasn't before). Now I can't even comment or reply to someone.

Write to admin, then start asking to myself - why bother? Delete all comments and posts. Delete account.

Seriously what the fuck? Who would genuinely put themselves through that? At any moment, anyone, any mod, can basically disable your account for good, and that's it. Why would anyone put himself through that???

He's GP and swore he'd move to Canada if Trump was reelected.

I think he didn't exactly Trump to win (lol), nonetheless, he finally pushed through earlier this year. Keep in mind he is a young, early 30s doctor. Married, wants kids soon and "didn't want to raise them in muh maga."

He had a job guaranteed at a clinic in Toronto even before stepping a foot in Canada (yes, we need doctors that bad). They sponsored him, even helped me get his wife in (his wife was going to "go back to school" lol), etc.

After four months, he's announced he's going to Florida. Here's why.

1) General Salary

He went from $220,000 USD to... $180,000 CAD (around 130k USD). Also, his clinic is massively understaffed and he only has one nurse + one receptionist vs a full team in the US (including nurse assistant, etc etc)

2) Taxes

He showed me his pay stub once and the government stole around 20% (some of it social security).

Counting all fees/deductions he's closing on 40% in Ontario.

Likewise, he is charged 15% sales tax on everything he buys vs 7% if I remember well in Florida.

3) Property Taxes/Tax

Let's not even get started on that lol.

This was one of the main reason he moved to Toronto btw: property taxes/insurance too high in Florida.

4) Rights

Forget trying to get a gun in Canada and he was/is a huge gun enthusiast. Now, Canada used to be safe, but...

5) Immigration

Won't even say anything on that in Toronto... He said it was a total shock to him. Indians will rent a $8,000 a month house and split it with 9 other people, sometimes up to five people in a room. That's $800 each which is cheap, if you can call it that, but... lol

6) Services

His wife had to visit the ER a few months ago and she waited almost 6 hours. I told him he was lucky: 6 hours of waiting time at ER in Canada is a very short wait. He was shocked.

He doesn't have a health card yet, so he has to pay for everything, despite paying taxes. He does have insurance, but there's a deductible. Also, the first doctor who saw his wife referred her to get an external review - that appointment is (still) three months from now. Again, I told him it was lucky: another acquaintance of mine got an appointment in... 2027.

7) Cost of life

He is paid in CAD now and is shocked at the cost of life. Now, this is is Toronto, not exactly cheap, but even in Florida, you could find a decent burger+fries for $20. You can MAYBE find that an hour away from toronto (apart from McDonald's which is $20 now)

8) Quality of life

After taxes, he nets around $10,000 a month. His current rent is 30% of his net salary. In Florida, it was less than half of that.

I'm not saying the US is perfect, and sure $10,000 a month affords you a comfortable life, and perhaps his luck would be better in another province, but the pay cut he had to take and insane taxes on everything, for a quality of life that isn't that much better (or arguably worse) than Florida convinced him to move back.

I just returned from the grocery store.

I wanted some cookies to celebrate and it's been a while since I've had oreos, so I decided to take that. First surprise: they sell that shit in small packages now. Forget the huge box with four filled rows of cookies, you are getting some "top-opening" shitty plastic box with two, not even full rows of "cookies."

The price for that junk? $6.29. That's right: six fucking bucks. Plus taxes (15% because fuck you) means it will be $7.25. For some shitty, pre-made, generic cookies. Even to this day, there is a place where I can get a salad+sandwich for that price, taxes included. If I want a bit more, I can hop on some bargain app and get a full large pizza for that price (day old, but still).

I CLEARLY remember when that little packet of cookies came out in 2015. They cost $0.99 on sale. That's right, $1.15 after taxes. Sure, those cookies were not on sale today, but how much are they realistically on sale? 4.99$? $3.99 maybe?

So, what is my point? Well, I read in the news today that inflation in Canada was... 2.3% today. That's right: these fuckers say that in the last ten years, prices only went up 29%.

Honestly, I've watched prices go up 29% this year alone. This is despite the price of many commodities (olive oil, coffee beans, etc) plummeting on the market. Did prices go down at the grocery store? No, in fact they went up some more.

I am sick and tired of being lied to in my face. "hurr durr inflation is only 2.3%" yeah 2.3% a month maybe. A fucking 1.54L of orange juice (because we buy orange jugs in 1.54L pack for some reason now) is $7.49. Back in the day, 2L was 2.99$ and maybe less on sale.

Prices of oranges has been plummetting too (down 30% - https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/orange-juice) so why the fuck are the prices so high?

For those of you who don't follow Canadian politics (aka 99% of you), Carmey is about to win. Carmey is Trudeau on steroids. All of the bad (censorship, gun control, mass immigration aka invasion, crazy inflation), none of the good (dental plan, that's about it).

Canada has been done for for 25 years, but in recent years, it became much worse. Montreal is filled with invaders and it's not even funny. Metro is basically unusable now and it's up to a point where if you go to a restaurant, you'll be one of the few whites around. Indians recruit only indians, so good luck getting a job.

I've wanted to move for a very long time. Recent events (Carmey) made that even more obvious. But where?

My options:

1. Rural Quebec - still inured to most of the problems that poison the more urban centers. Are you surprised to hear Montreal/etc are 90%+ liberal?

2. Alberta - higher pay, more conservative

3. USA - but where?

4. Europe?

5. SEA?

I have a bit saved up. I can't see myself have a life here. I want to build something, etc. I'm a high school teacher and I'm paying close to 50% in come taxes, plus 15% sales taxes, plus alcohol, property, gas etc etc taxes.
